Advice for exhibitorsDisplay spaces may be shared between artists or art groups who must make their own arrangements for fair use of the space (only one application and payment for a shared space, please). Artists may apply for one exhibiting hanging space (fee to be decided). A second space may become available on a 'first come, first served' basis if there is spare capacity: If you are interested in a second space, let us know and book early. In addition and free of charge, each exhibiting artist or group may put a maximum of five cellophane wrapped, mounted and backed pieces in one of our 'browse boxes'. These must be individually labelled (please provide your own) with artist's name, title of work, medium and price and may include reproductions if they are clearly labelled as such. We also have a card rack where artists may display up to twenty cellophane wrapped greetings cards (individually labelled and priced).
All work displayed on boards, easels and tables must be original and new to EDAS exhibitions - No reproductions To ensure presentation quality, Easingwold & District Art Society reserves the right to re-arrange or remove work. Entry fees are non returnable. Ten percent of all takings will be donated to the EDAS to fund future exhibitions and support local charities. Artists are responsible for the display/hanging and insurance of their work. While EDAS and the Galtres Centre do their best to ensure a secure environment, they will accept no responsibility for loss or damage to work. |
Hanging Spaces are 4' x 4' unpainted pegboard panels. These spaces are for suitably framed 2D artwork; canvasses may be left unframed. We provide suitable hooks for hanging and labels for the work which should be fixed with blu-tack. Artists may also choose to display some biographical information or hang little boxes for business type cards. Work will look at it's best if the board is not overcrowded and framing is neutral and contemporary.
Please note, having two hanging spaces will not give you a 4' x 8' continuous hanging area. We have a limited number of easels available to display larger or heavy 2D artworks (1 or 2 easels = 1 hanging space). Please let us know in advance if you want to display large or heavy work and we will do our best to accommodate you. Table Spaces for the Autumn Art Exhibition only are approximately 6' x 2'6" and require some sort of cover for an attractive display. Tables are most suitable for 3D work but may be used for 2D work if it is suitably displayed. Please do not assume that your table will be against a wall, even if you have booked one hanging and one table space. Some artists use table easels or wooden blocks to display paintings or photographs (for example) but care must be taken not to overcrowd the table. All work must be clearly priced, either individually or on a list. Tables displaying jewellery or other particularly small or valuable items will require manning by the artist throughout the exhibition. Booking Form A booking form for the October 2015 exhibition is available to download here . This includes information on delivery and collection of work and stewarding. |
Advice on sending us images for the online gallery
Good Quality jpeg images are required: About 1mb is fine. Please provide information for the image caption: Title, size and medium. The 'thumbnail' images will be rectangular and in landscape format so portrait format images will be cropped - Bear this in mind when selecting an image. Clicking on an image will link to a larger image with caption. An alphabetical list of artist's names will appear above the image gallery: The artist's name can be linked to an external site. Please provide any link required when you send us your image. If you are having trouble deciding on an image, send us a few and we will choose! You can request to change it whenever you like. Email us your images and information (images as attached jpeg files) using the email address madeline@halljackson.co.uk
