Easingwold October Art Exhibition 2016

Reviewing the EXHIBITION
Easingwold & District Art Society enjoyed yet another great turnout to its annual Autumn Art Exhibition held at the Galtres Centre on the weekend of 22nd & 23rd October.
The high standard of artists work and exciting range of different styles and mediums on display offered a rich visual palette for both visitors and exhibitors to enjoy. Also much admired was the wonderful quality of work entered by sixth form students into the School’s Exhibition. Local artist, Jenny Ulyatt judged these fascinating entries and made the following awards: GOLD AWARD for ‘ Reptile Amongst Us‘ by Callum Grayson from Northallerton College. SILVER AWARD for ‘Intertwined‘ by Amber Hutton from Northallerton College. The following three pieces of work were HIGHLY COMMENDED : ‘Man’s Best Friend’ by Isobel Lacy, from Northallerton College. ‘Rose Tinted Sunglasses’ by Ben Bell, from Northallerton College ‘Composition two’ by Megan Jarvis from Boroughbridge High School. During the weekend visitors were invited to vote for the BEST IN SHOW and the result, by a large majority was: ‘Deborah – Zambian Girl’ by artist Aynsley Halligan. EDAS would like to acknowledge the teams who were involved; the kind ladies who worked so hard to provide refreshments; the wonderful musicians, John Holt – accordion and Martin Nordli – guitar, who played on the Preview Evening. Also the many individuals who worked tirelessly in the background to make this a successful event which was enjoyed by so many.
